Ponnadhar is a small saree house in Dhaka (ঢাকা). We curate handloom drapes from across the subcontinent — Banarasi from Uttar Pradesh, Kanjivaram from Tamil Nadu, Chanderi from Madhya Pradesh, Jamdani from our own Narayanganj weavers, Mysore silk from Karnataka, Tussar from Jharkhand.

Every saree is sourced from the loom, inspected by hand, and shipped with an unstitched blouse piece so your tailor can cut it to your exact measure.

Our philosophy

A saree should feel like an heirloom the day you wear it. We work only with master weavers who sign their work — no power-loom copies, no mill-printed pretenders. When a piece leaves our room, the pallu, the border, the zari on the anchal have all passed under four pairs of eyes.

Where we source

We travel to the weaving clusters twice a season — Varanasi, Kanchipuram, Chanderi, Bhagalpur, Mysuru, Narayanganj — and pay the weavers directly, above the cooperative rate. The country and cluster of origin is listed on every product page.
